Description : Role Overview :The MongoDB Developer & Administrator is a senior, dual-focused role requiring 4+ years of experience dedicated to the design, optimization, and administration of MongoDB environments.This position demands Extensive hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas, making cloud-native administration and operational excellence a mandatory requirement.The incumbent will be responsible for both database development (query optimization, schema design) and robust administration (security, performance tuning, and backup strategies).Job Summary :We are seeking a highly experienced MongoDB professional (4+ years) with mandatory and extensive hands-on experience in MongoDB Atlas administration and operations.The ideal candidate will be proficient in designing scalable document schemas, writing complex aggregation pipelines, and ensuring the high availability, security, and performance of MongoDB deployments.Key responsibilities include cluster deployment and management via Atlas, configuration of robust backup and recovery strategies, and providing expert consultation on query optimization and data modeling best practices for developers.Key Responsibilities and Technical Deliverables :MongoDB Atlas Administration (Mandatory) : - Demonstrate Extensive hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas for cluster deployment, monitoring, scaling, and maintenance.- Manage advanced Atlas features including Performance Advisor, Backup and Recovery, Security configurations (e.g., VPC Peering, Private Endpoints), and automated scaling policies.- Implement and manage operational tasks related to cloud environments, ensuring high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.Database Development & Optimization : - Design and model efficient, scalable, and optimized document schemas based on application access patterns.- Write and optimize complex MongoDB Aggregation Pipelines for advanced data processing and reporting needs.- Provide expert consultation and review on database query performance, indexing strategies, and data modeling best practices for development teams.Security and Compliance : - Implement and enforce security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), auditing, encryption at rest (storage) and in transit (SSL/TLS).- Configure and manage advanced security features within MongoDB Atlas and the database itself.Performance Tuning and Monitoring : - Proactively monitor database health, resource utilization, and key performance indicators (KPIs) using MongoDB Atlas monitoring tools and custom alerts.- Conduct regular performance tuning of database servers, queries, and indexes to sustain low latency and high throughput.Maintenance and Automation : - Manage database upgrades, patching, and data migration across different environments.- Develop and utilize scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) for automating routine administrative tasks and deploying configuration changes.Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :- Experience : 4+ years of professional experience with MongoDB.- Platform Expertise : Extensive hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas administration and operations.- Development : Deep expertise in MongoDB Aggregation Framework and scalable document schema design.- Administration : Proven track record in performance tuning, indexing, backup/recovery, and security configuration (RBAC).- Skills : Proficiency in MongoDB Query Language (MQL) and strong understanding of high availability concepts (Replica Sets, Sharding).Preferred Skills :- Certification (e.g., MongoDB Certified Developer or Administrator).- Experience with MongoDB on different cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).- Knowledge of database integration with modern microservices architectures (Java, Node.js, .NET).- Experience with monitoring tools outside of Atlas (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) (ref:hirist.tech)
