This role involves designing an intuitive UI and implementing robust backend logic forseamless device interaction, all while working remotely.Responsibilities:• Design and develop a user-friendly, responsive UI for an Android app to control smart LEDlighting devices, supporting features like presence simulation, timers, astro-timers, fadingdimming, and touchless controls.• Implement backend logic to integrate the app with smart lighting devices via APIs, ensuringreliable communication for automatic on/off, dimming, and scheduling.• Collaborate with the project team to translate requirements into technical specifications,prioritizing intuitive user experiences and robust functionality.• Optimize app performance for a wide range of Android devices, ensuring low latency andenergy efficiency during lighting control interactions.• Integrate the app with cloud-based infrastructure for remote device management and real-time updates.• Ensure app compatibility with the latest Android versions and devices, adhering to Google’sMaterial Design guidelines.• Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and maintenance to deliver a high-quality, bug-freeuser experience.• Work remotely, providing regular updates and participating in virtual meetings to align onproject goals.Requirements:• 4+ years of experience in Android app development, with a strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX design and backend integration.• Proficiency in Kotlin and Android Studio for building responsive, high-performanceAndroid applications.• Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating mobile apps with hardware devices or IoTsystems.• Strong understanding of Android UI/UX principles, including Google’s Material Designguidelines, to create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces.• Familiarity with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, or other protocols for devicecommunication.• Knowledge of backend development concepts, such as handling API requests, JSONparsing, and data synchronization.• Experience with version control systems like Git and agile development methodologies.• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with a distributed team.• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalentexperience).Preferred Qualifications:• Experience developing apps for smart home or IoT devices, particularly lighting or homeautomation systems.• Knowledge of app security best practices, including secure data transmission and userauthentication.• Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks like JUnit or Espresso.
