Job Title: Assurance Manager
Department: Assurance Services Department
Summary:
As an Assurance Manager, you will take on a leadership role within the assurance services team, focusing on client service, technical expertise, staff development, and efficient project management. Your responsibilities will include managing client relationships, mentoring junior staff, overseeing projects, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality assurance services. Key Responsibilities:
- Personal and Professional Development:
- Adhere to the firm's professional ethics, client confidentiality policies, and the standards of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
- Maintain a professional attitude, behavior, and appearance in all interactions.
- Lead, mentor, and coach staff, providing guidance on anticipating, defining, prioritizing, and solving problems.
- Set clear, actionable goals for staff and effectively communicate them.
- Foster an environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
- Provide constructive feedback and recognize team members' achievements.
- Take a leadership role in mentoring and developing staff.
- Effectively communicate complex information during formal presentations.
Client Service:
- Plan, organize, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
- Supervise the timely completion of assurance projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Maintain continuous communication with the client service team to update them on work status.
- Demonstrate a professional interest in delivering quality services and providing personalized attention to clients.
- Be the primary client contact for designated clients, ensuring their issues are promptly addressed.
- Identify potential client needs and proactively suggest services that the firm can provide.
- Coordinate and manage the fulfillment of services to clients, liaising with other departments as necessary.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients through high-quality work and effective communication.
- Respond to client queries and complaints, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Administrative:
- Monitor voicemail and email in accordance with firm policies.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and staff career development activities.
- Assist with the departmental budget process and interdepartmental scheduling.
- Review and purchase necessary software and library materials.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within the department.
Technical Requirements:
- Stay current with technical developments in the assurance field and communicate relevant updates to staff and clients.
- Make informed technical decisions with final approval from the Assurance Services Partners.
- Serve as a technical resource for the firm, especially in areas of developed expertise.
- Maintain basic knowledge of all practice areas within the firm.
Marketing:
- Assist in the development and execution of the department's marketing plan.
- Follow through on personal marketing initiatives to build the firm's network and referral sources.
- Participate in the preparation and presentation of proposals for new business.
- Represent the firm at marketing functions and industry events.
- Help develop marketing skills within the team.
Position Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- The Assurance Manager must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a demonstrated commitment to a career in public accounting.
- Significant experience in assurance services is required, but length of experience is secondary to the ability to effectively perform managerial duties and provide leadership.
- Experience in leading teams and handling client engagements independently is preferred.
Technology:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to efficiently format documents and spreadsheets.
- Willingness to learn and use new software applications as required.
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to client and team queries.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a practical approach.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, reach, talk, and hear.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds.
