Job Title : Backup Engineer


Location : Bangalore


Job Type : Full-time


Job Summary :


As a Backup Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability and integrity of our clients' data. You will design, implement, and maintain Veeam and equivalent tools-based backup and disaster recovery systems, ensuring data is securely stored and easily recoverable in case of an outage or :


1. Design and implement Veeam based backup and disaster recovery solutions for clients' data


2. Configure and manage Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam ONE, and Veeam Cloud Connect


3. Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures


4. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations


5. Troubleshoot Veeam-related issues


6. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure


7. Stay up to date with Veeam software updates and best practices


Key Responsibility Areas :


1. Veeam Infrastructure Management :


- Design, implement, and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure


- Configure and manage Veeam servers, proxies, and repositories


- Ensure Veeam infrastructure is highly available and scalable


2. Backup and Recovery Operations :


- Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures


- Ensure successful backups and replicas for all protected workloads


- Perform restores and recoveries as needed


3. Data Protection and Compliance :


- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)


- Implement data encryption, access controls, and auditing


4. Veeam Configuration and Optimization :


- Configure Veeam settings for optimal performance and efficiency


- Monitor and optimize Veeam resource utilization (e.g., CPU, memory, storage)


5. Troubleshooting and Support :


- Troubleshoot Veeam-related issues and resolve them in a timely manner


- Provide support for Veeam-related queries and requests


6. Documentation and Reporting :


- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of Veeam infrastructure and configurations


- Generate reports on backup and recovery operations, and Veeam infrastructure performance


7. Upgrade and Patch Management :


- Plan and execute Veeam software upgrades and patches


- Ensure Veeam infrastructure is running on supported and secure versions


8. Collaboration and Communication :


- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure


- Communicate Veeam-related information and changes to :


1. 5+ years of experience with Veeam Backup & Replication


2. Veeam VMCE or VMCA certification will be preferred.


3. In-depth knowledge of Veeam features and functionality


4. Experience with storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS, Cloud Storage)


5. Basic Windows Server Administration Experience.


6. Strong understanding of data protection principles and industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)


7. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.


8. Bachelors degree in computer science, IT, or related field
