We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused HR professional to join our Global People Operations Shared Services team. This role will be based in Chennai or Hyderabad and will provide dedicated support to our United States employee population across payroll administration, benefits administration, and core HR operations. The ideal candidate is experienced, highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable working across time zones to ensure accurate, compliant, and employee-friendly HR services.
Please note this job is Hybrid and will require you to be in either our Chennai or Hyderabad office 4 days a week.
Flexible hours to provide at least 3–4 overlapping hours with U.S. Central or Eastern Time zones. Occasional evening calls during U.S. payroll cycles or open enrollment periods.
What you will do:
Payroll Administration
Partner with U.S. payroll vendor (e.g., ADP, Paychex) to process semi-monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy of time, earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Validate and reconcile payroll data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and special payments.
Prepare audit reports and respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly.
Benefits Administration
Support U.S. benefits programs—health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and other plans by managing enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Liaise with U.S. benefits brokers and carriers to resolve employee questions and escalate complex cases.
Assist with annual open enrollment and compliance filings (ACA, ERISA notices).
HR Operations – Full Employee Lifecycle
Provide high-quality, end-to-end HR operational support for U.S. employees across every stage of the employee journey:
Onboarding:
Coordinate new-hire documentation, background checks, and employment verifications.
Ensure timely creation of HRIS, payroll, and benefits profiles.
Partner with IT and facilities for equipment provisioning and Day 1 readiness.
Employee Service Desk & Support:
Serve as first-line HR contact for employee inquiries via ticketing/service desk systems.
Triage and resolve issues related to payroll, benefits, policies, and HR programs.
Employee Changes:
Process promotions, transfers, compensation adjustments, and status changes in HRIS and payroll systems.
Track and communicate effective dates, approvals, and downstream impacts.
Offboarding & Terminations:
Manage exit processes, including final pay calculations, benefits termination, and retrieval of company property.
Conduct compliance checks for COBRA, unemployment, and state reporting requirements.
Records Management & Compliance:
Maintain accurate employee files and digital records in accordance with U.S. federal and state requirements (I-9, W-4, HIPAA).
Prepare documentation for audits, internal reviews, and regulatory reporting.
Ensure adherence to data privacy standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
Process Improvement:
Document and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all HR operations activities.
Identify automation opportunities and recommend best practices to improve employee experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: 5-7 years in HR operations, payroll, or benefits administration, supporting U.S. employees.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Dayforce) and advanced Excel skills.
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, excellent English communication (written and verbal), and comfort with U.S./India time zone overlap.
Knowledge of U.S. federal and state payroll compliance (FLSA, tax rules).
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Work schedule:
