We are looking for a talented Technology Architect that can help us develop and grow various platforms and systems.

This role will work closely with the product team to plan new features, guide a team of engineers to develop and test these features and collaborate across multiple teams to streamline integrations and cross-system solutions.


ShyftLabs is a growing data product company that was founded in early 2020 and works primarily with Fortune 500 companies.

We deliver digital solutions built to help accelerate the growth of businesses in various industries, by focusing on creating value through innovation.

Design and influence the development of service-based systems (both front-end and back-end)

Collaborate with the product team to understand requirements, provide estimates, document complexity, and communicate dependencies/risks/roadblocks

Create light-weight proofs of concept to validate possible solutions

Develop secure, scalable, and high-quality features that spur product growth

Create and review technical documentation including arch diagrams, data flow diagrams, API contracts, etc.

Advocate for best practices, and grow other developers in their technical ambitions

Work in partnership with multiple teams to design systems, anticipate problems, and provide optimal/alternate options

Lead the design and development efforts for our systems integration projects

Act as the key technical expert, addressing problems of system integration, compatibility, and general high-level development support issues

Generate and maintain non-functional requirements and technical specifications

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of experience developing software code both front-end and back-end, and creating scalable technology platforms

3+ years of software architecture and design experience

BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field

Expert-level knowledge of the following programming languages and tools: Python, React, Javascript, Docker, GIT, Rest APIs, PostGres, and SQL

Strong background with AWS tools and products including S3, CloudFront, EC2, RDS, Batch, and Lambda.

Extensive knowledge of common data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and best practices

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts verbally and in written form

Preferred Qualifications:

Capacity to adapt quickly when requirements or priorities change

Familiarity with Kanban and Agile, and expertise in Software Development lifecycle methodologies

Positive attitude and ability to build strong relationships across teams

Able to work well independently, and with a team, in a fast-paced environment
