Role Description:

As a GIS Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining FME workbenches for Desktop to facilitate GIS data analysis and updates based on business requirements and validations. Your expertise in Esri ArcGIS suite of products, Safe FME, ArcGIS Pro, and Python scripting will be essential for developing tools, scripts, and validations to optimize GIS workflows and ensure data integrity. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, develop solutions, and publish services for consumption by other systems such as Maximo.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop FME Workbenches: Design and develop FME workbenches for Desktop to facilitate GIS data analysis, transformations, and updates based on business requirements.
  • Attribute Validations: Develop validations using Arcade expressions within ArcGIS Pro for attribute validations, ensuring data integrity and compliance with business rules.
  • Python Scripting: Develop Python scripts for bulk data updates, cleanup, and automation of GIS workflows, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
  • ArcGIS Pro Objects: Utilize ArcGIS Pro objects to develop custom tools and functionalities within ArcGIS Pro environment, enhancing user experience and workflow efficiency.
  • Publish Services: Publish map and feature services from ArcGIS Pro for consumption by other systems such as Maximo, ensuring seamless integration and data interoperability.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and translate them into technical solutions and workflows.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and process documentation, to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and quality assurance activities to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and performance of GIS applications and workflows.
Mandatory Skills:
  • Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS suite of products and Safe FME for GIS data analysis, transformations, and updates.
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro, including developing validations using Arcade expressions and ArcGIS Pro objects/Arc Objects.
  • Strong Python scripting skills for automation, bulk data updates, and cleanup tasks in GIS workflows.
  • Ability to develop and publish map and feature services from ArcGIS Pro for consumption by other systems.
Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise is desirable but not mandatory.Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise and its components, including ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS.
  • Experience with spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS for storing and managing GIS data.
