Key Responsibilities:

Trend Research and Design Development:

  • Conducting thorough research on current fashion trends and consumer preferences, particularly in sustainable slow fashion.
  • Aligning slow fashion products with current trends to appeal to trendy, ecoconscious customers.
  • Creating detailed sketches and illustrations for new clothing lines, ensuring they align with our brand's commitment to sustainability.

Pattern Making and Material Selection:

  • Developing accurate and precise clothing patterns for production using eco-friendly fabrics.
  • Evaluating and selecting sustainable fabrics, colors, patterns, and textures for each design.

Production and Prototype Management:

  • Overseeing the entire production process, including fittings, pricing strategy, and ensuring ecofriendly processes.
  • Managing the development of prototype samples, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.

Seasonal Collections and Mood Board Creation:

  • Designing innovative clothing for upcoming seasons, reflecting the latest trends and consumer demands in sustainable fashion.
  • Developing comprehensive mood boards to convey design concepts and themes.

Vendor Relations and Cost Analysis:

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers who provide sustainable materials.
  • Preparing detailed cost sheets and product lists for each design, ensuring budget adherence.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Coordinating with different departments and stakeholders, including marketing, production, and supply chain, to ensure cohesive execution of designs and strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background: Degree in Fashion Design from a reputable institution.

Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a fashion designer, with a strong portfolio (sustainable fashion experience preferred).

Design Expertise: Thorough understanding of fashion design principles and industry standards, with a focus on sustainable practices.

Creativity and Trend Awareness: Exceptional creativity with a keen sense of the latest trends and styles in sustainable fashion.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
