The Media Ant is an 11-year-old platform for media discovery, planning, and execution of marketing campaigns.
We aim to disrupt the traditional process of executing ad campaigns through a physical media agency and replace it with a self-serve advertising platform.
The platform should work equally well for both online and offline media.
This platform will empower any advertiser, irrespective of their budget and level of marketing understanding, to go ahead and launch a campaign.
The Media Ant is the winner of various startup awards and is used by more than a million users every year.
Job Description
As the Finance Controller at TheMediaAnt, you will lead a team of 8-10 finance professionals, overseeing the financial operations of the company.
You will also play a key role in managing relationships with our clients and partners, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. Overall, your role will be crucial in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you will actively participate in team building and training initiatives, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment within the finance team.
Your leadership will be instrumental in developing the skills and capabilities of your team members, ensuring their professional growth and success within the organization.
Day to Day WorkBookkeeping and Accounting:
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and uptodate accounting records, including journal entries, bank transaction entries, ledger reconciliations, and financial statements
- Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and company accounting policies.
- Preparation of monthly MIS and financial statements
- Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Accounts Receivable (AR) & Accounts Payable (AP):
- Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Monitor AR aging and collections efforts, collaborating with client management teams to resolve any outstanding issues.
- Optimize AP processes to maximize vendor relationships, negotiate favorable payment terms, and minimize late payments.
- Strong control on Cash flow and its projections.
Statutory Compliance and Legal:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST, TDS and Income Tax
- Coordinate with external consultants on fillings and reconciliation of tax amounts. Support these consultant with various documentary evidence and reports for seamless filling and response to authorities for concerns raised.
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations, implementing necessary updates to internal policies and procedures.
- Work with legal consultant for filling of legal cases and managing the ongoing cases.
Systems and Processes:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digitization to streamline workflows and reduce manual efforts.
- Implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
Team Building and Training:
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication, trust, and respect among team members.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the finance team.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement in all aspects of work.
- Qualified CA
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 23 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong proficiency in accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
- High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding ethical principles and professional conduct in all financial matters.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence decisionmaking, and resolve conflicts.
