About RSSDI Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) is the largest association of physicians dedicated to the care of people with diabetes in Asia, with over 11,500 members across 23 states in India.

RSSDI was registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 by the Registrar of Societies. ).

RSSDI's mission is to conduct diabetes research and innovation in India to improve diabetes care as well as support the prevention and management of diabetes.


ABOUT KOITA FOUNDATION
Koita Foundation ) is a not-for-profit organization focused on driving Digital Health and NGO Transformation. KF partners with leading academic institutions, hospitals, healthcare technology companies, and NGOs to drive Digital Health adoption in India. In 2021, KF partnered with IIT Bombay, India's #1 academic institution, to establish the Koita Centre for Digital Health ). In 2022, KF partnered with Tata Memorial Centre and National Cancer Grid to establish the Koita Centre for Digital Oncology ). KF is working on multiple Digital Health initiatives on a national scale e.g., working with the Government of India's ABDM initiative ) on their national roll-out, supporting NABH ), India's large accreditation body for hospitals, with their Digital Health initiatives.

BACKGROUND


Diabetes care is changing rapidly worldwide, and the use of digital tools and technologies is key in driving this change such that it improves quality, access, and cost of care.

There are opportunities to use digital technologies through every stage of the patient's healthcare journey - from screening & diagnostics, evidence-based patient care, home care, and for prevention & management of complications.

To support RSSDI members on their digital journey and leverage digital technologies to improve diabetes care in India, RSSDI has established the RSSDI-Koita Centre for Digital Diabetology (RSSDI-KCDD).

RSSDI signed an MOU with the Koita Foundation on 13th April 2024 to develop and execute world-class Digital Health initiatives for enhanced prevention, management, and research for diabetes.


KCDD KEY FOCUS AREAS:

Quality:
Leverage digital technology to improve diabetes treatment workflows and patient experience; Including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), clinical quality measures, guideline adherence, patient engagement, AI/ML

Affordability:

Identify areas for cost reduction using Digital Health technology, data sharing, etc., to make diabetes care more affordable e.g.

, cost of care benchmarking

Access:
Leverage digital technology to improve access to high-quality diabetes care esp. in non urban, rural areas e.g., telemedicine

Productivity:
Leverage digital tools & automation to improve the clinical & administrative workflows, reducing manual and redundant activities

Best Practices:
Identify and share best practices in digital technology in Diabetes management

Training and Capacity Building:
Use Digital Health tools for continuous learning/skill development in different user groups such as doctors, nurses, technicians

Research and Development:
Partner with Healthcare Startups, pharma/ healthcare companies, and other organizations to drive R&D in diabetes

KCDD CEO

Role Overview:


As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the RSSDI-Koita Centre for Digital Diabetology (RSSDI-KCDD), you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic vision and operational excellence of the organization.

You will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of RSSDI-KCDD's activities, with a focus on advancing Digital Health initiatives to enhance the prevention, management, and research of diabetes in India.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide visionary leadership to drive the strategic direction and growth of RSSDI-KCDD in alignment with its mission and objectives
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, initiatives, and partnerships to advance digital diabetology in India
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership with healthcare tech cos, pharma companies, and other organizations to drive R&D in diabetes care
  • Collaborate closely with partners to drive innovation and impact in Digital Health and diabetes care
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of RSSDI-KCDD's programs and initiatives, adhering to best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to optimize effectiveness and impact
  • Promote awareness and understanding of digital diabetology and its importance in improving healthcare outcomes.
  • Manage the financial resources of RSSDI-KCDD, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Drive fundraising for the KCDD organization and for executing large strategic projects – become self-reliant over the next 4-5 years

KCDD CEO Desired Profile

  • Senior healthcare leader with a minimum of 15 years of experience, of which at least 5 years is in Digital Health and Healthcare
  • Advanced degree in healthcare management, public health, business administration, or a related field desirable
  • Proven leadership experience in a senior management role, preferably in healthcare, Digital Health, or healthcare consulting
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, partnership development, and program management
  • Strong understanding of Digital Health technologies and healthcare delivery systems in India
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Financial acumen and experience in budgeting, financial management, and fundraising Compensation: As per industry benchmarks
