The Site WHS Officer Role:

  • Partner with site operations team in a Sort Center to execute safety policies.
  • Ensure compliance to local and regional regulations, reducing risks.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for a safer working environment.
  • Build trust, influence change, and provide risk assessments.
  • Train Operations Leaders on safety policies and standards.
  • Identify and implement best practices for safety improvement.
  • Possess expertise in safety, environmental, and ergonomic knowledge.
  • Lead safety team members and develop their leadership plans.
  • Communicate safety expectations, provide feedback, and ensure team competency.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years experience in Environment, Health & Safety or Industrial Safety Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Experience in reputable organizations and managing direct reports.
  • Flexible regarding shifts and skilled in lean principles implementation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sort Center or Manufacturing Safety experience preferred.
  • Master's degree desirable, Government Certified Safety Professional favored.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, adaptability to fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in evolving organizations and ability to develop department strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and comfort in interacting with site leaders.
