While the nature of the work is more hands-on in the healthcare sector, the position plays a crucial role in the overall patient care team.


Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assistance:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and mobility.
  • Ensure patient comfort and wellbeing by addressing their basic needs.

Vital Sign Monitoring:

  • Regularly check and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Report any significant changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team.

Hygiene Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment for patients.
  • Ensure proper sanitation of patient rooms and common areas.

4.

Supportive Care:

  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients.
  • Foster a positive and caring atmosphere for patients and their families.

5.

Communication:

  • Effectively communicate with patients to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to convey important information about patient care.

6.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care activities.
  • Document observations and any changes in the patient's condition.

Requirements:

  • Minimum educational requirements may include a certificate or diploma in General Duty Assistance or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a patientcentered approach to care.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare protocols.
