In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in architecting and fine-tuning our observability and telemetry infrastructure, delivering actionable insights into the performance, reliability, and health of our systems and applications.


Responsibilities:


Spearhead the design, execution, and administration of observability and telemetry solutions for our Kubernetes-based products, harnessing tools like Datadog, Honeycomb, Prometheus, ELK, and Grafana.

Craft and deploy comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to gather, analyze, and visualize telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces) from diverse sources.

Develop bespoke monitoring metrics, dashboards, and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), pinpoint anomalies, and preemptively troubleshoot issues.

Collaborate cross-functionally to seamlessly integrate observability and telemetry solutions into the software development lifecycle, encompassing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in observability, propelling continuous enhancement and innovation in our monitoring and analytics prowess.

Provide technical expertise and mentorship to development teams, guiding them on best practices for effective instrumentation, collection, and analysis of telemetry data.


Requirements:
6-9 years of professional experience in DevOps or software engineering, with a specialization in Kubernetes on AWS.

Proficiency in observability and telemetry tools and methodologies, with hands-on familiarity with some combination of Datadog, Honeycomb, ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Exposure to Kubernetes tools like Komodor, Kiali, Keda, Karpenter, and Kubecost would be advantageous.
Strong scripting and automation skills for building monitoring and analytics solutions.
Sound grasp of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud-native technologies.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
Exceptional analytical prowess and problem-solving acumen, coupled with a drive for continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and collaboration aptitude, thriving in a dynamic, agile environment.
