Fashion Designer

Role PurposeThe purpose of the role is to be responsible for conceptualizing and creating athleisure wearfor CAVA that aligns with current fashion trends, market demands, and the brand's aesthetic.The role combines artistic skills, technical expertise, and market awareness to design uniqueand appealing fashion products.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch and Inspiration• Stay updated with the latest fashion trends, styles, and cultural influences.• Draw inspiration from various sources, global fashion trends & events• Overseeing the research and development of new styles for organizations in thepast experiences• Conducting market research to identify new trends, fabrics and seek designinspirationConcept Development• Produce visually appealing and innovative fashion products in line with Cava’saesthetic and brand promise• Create design concepts and sketches for CAVA athleisure considering factors likecolour, fabric, texture, and silhouette• Develop mood boards and presentations to communicate design ideas• Create tech packs for styles and have a good understanding of market viabilityand commercial scalabilityProduction & Design Process• Choose appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials for each design, consideringfactors such as comfort, durability, and cost• Develop patterns for garments and accessories, ensuring proper fit andfunctionality.• Collaborate with pattern makers and sample developers to bring designs to life.• Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples, making necessary adjustmentsto achieve the desired design and fit. Work closely with seamstresses, tailors,and manufacturers• Create detailed technical drawings and specifications, including measurements,construction details, and sewing instructions, to guide the production process• Quality Control by overseeing the production process to ensure that the finalproducts meet quality standards and design specifications• Adaptation and Iteration: Review feedback from colleagues, clients, andcustomers, and make necessary revisions to designs based on input and marketdemands• Managing the design process from conception to final stylingTrend Forecasting• Analyse market trends and consumer preferences to anticipate future fashiontrends and adapt designs accordingly• Collaborate with teams to create fashionable clothing line that aligns with CAVAbusiness strategyBrand Identity• Ensure that designs align with the CAVA’s brand aesthetic, target audience, andoverall image & brand promiseCollaboration & Presentation• Collaborate with other designers, merchandisers, and marketing teams todevelop cohesive fashion collections and promotional materials• Showcase designs through fashion shows, presentations, and promotionalmaterials to potential buyers, clients, and the mediaBehavioral Competencies• Execution Excellence• Ideation• Creativity• Learning Agility• Excellent communication and presentation skills• Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with teamsQualifications & Experience• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design or a related field (or equivalent workexperience)• 2 years of work experience in the fashion department of any D2C fashion brand inIndia• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)• Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and sewing techniques• Understanding of textiles, fabrics, and material properties• Trend forecasting and market research skills• Familiarity with market research and competitive analysis technique• Experience In menswear category is a good to have
