Audit Manager- Environment

Key ResponsibilitiesAudit ManagementDevelop and implement the annual environmental audit plan based on regulatory requirements, operational risks, and organizational objectives.Lead and conduct environmental audits across company operations, including site inspections, document reviews, and interviews with personnel.Ensure audits address compliance with local, regional, and national environmental regulations (e.g., waste, water, air emissions, hazardous materials).Coordinate and manage external regulatory audits and certification assessments (ISO 14001, sustainability audits, etc.).Compliance & Risk AssessmentMonitor and interpret current and emerging environmental regulations and standards; advise leadership on compliance implications.Identify environmental risks, non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement.Develop and oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans; track the closure of audit findings.Reporting & DocumentationPrepare audit reports, compliance summaries, and risk assessments for leadership and regulatory agencies.Maintain accurate, organized audit records and ensure timely submission of required environmental reports.Training & Stakeholder EngagementProvide guidance and training to site teams on environmental compliance, audit readiness, and best practices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Facilities, EHS, and Sustainability.Support the development of environmental policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.Program ImprovementEvaluate and improve audit methodologies, tools, and processes.Support environmental performance metrics, sustainability initiatives, and ESG reporting as required.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (Master’s preferred).Experience5–7+ years of experience in environmental compliance, auditing, or EHS management.Strong understanding of environmental regulations (air, water, waste, chemical management).Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems or similar frameworks.Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Proficiency with environmental management software and audit tools.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
