Your responsibilities:

  • The Application Engineer Manager will ideally be an expert of all the BL PGTR product applications for a given sector and support from a technical knowledge point of view the WCFE Team for the Marketing and Sales activities of the HUB and represents the interests of the GPG/BL in the given Country/Region.

  • You will cover HUB APMEA by interacting with existing Customers as well as with “Customers we aspire to have” by providing appropriate technical support (ideally influencing technical specifications at early stage, i.e. when there is no RFQ out) while reinforcing product applications positioning.

  • You will contribute medium-long term results and support the sales team at the pre-tender stage, through conceptual discussions.

  • Understanding specs and norms, squaring away doubts and misinterpretations, influencing technical specs, Demonstrating technical leadership

  • The person in this role should have strong technical skills, in addition to the marketing experience, to be able to connect the technical teams to the marketing teams in the Demand countries within a given HUB

  • You will carry out technical meetings at early stage and organize the preliminary technical discussions with local Customers focused on specific topics to be held or more-detailed technical workshops.

  • You will cover APMEA and not only the hosted country market, feed the Hub with customer feedback as well as strategic marketing inputs to support the market analysis validation and competitive landscape, heat maps, in coordination with Global Product Marketing Managers.

  • Ideally the Application Engineering Manager will have to follow a structured market plan by country combining the technical info gathered with customers while deploying a strategic overview mindset and lead and coach team of Application Engineers, support performance management, succession planning and people development.

Your background:

  • You hold bachelor’s degree in engineering. A master’s degree in business, marketing, or engineering is a plus.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in technical department (R&D, Electrical Engineering or Design) and/or Project Manager and/or Product Marketing, Sales and Business development in the assigned sector(s) and preferably associated with transformer businesses.

  • Experience in change management, coaching, motivating, and developing diverse technical teams.

  • There is a strong preference for a solid background or at least a proven experience within the assigned sector.

  • Be willing to travel ~25%.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
