Position Title: Sales Head (Retail/Institutional/Residential/Export)

Location: Alankaram Head Office, Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh

Reporting To: Managing Director


Role Overview

The Sales Head for each vertical will spearhead Alankaram’s sales efforts in their respective domains, focusing on revenue growth, market expansion, and client acquisition. They will develop tailored strategies, manage dedicated teams, and ensure achievement of sales targets. The roles demand deep market understanding, strong leadership skills, and a results-oriented approach. Frequent travel will be required for business development and client engagements.


Key Responsibilities

Retail Sales Head

  • Drive sales across showrooms, ensuring excellent customer experiences.
  • Develop strategies to boost walk-ins, conversions, and repeat customers.
  • Lead showroom teams to achieve monthly sales targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams for promotional campaigns to increase footfall and sales.

Institutional Sales Head

  • Build and manage relationships with corporate clients, architects, and interior designers.
  • Focus on furniture supply for offices, hotels, and large-scale commercial projects.
  • Handle end-to-end project execution, including client meetings, presentations, and delivery coordination.
  • Develop proposals for bulk orders and long-term partnerships.

Residential Sales Head

  • Target high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), architects, and interior designers for luxury residential projects.
  • Ensure seamless execution of customized furniture solutions for individual homes.
  • Manage client relationships to foster trust and long-term business.
  • Promote design consultancy services as a value-add for clients.

Export Sales Head

  • Identify and develop new markets for Alankaram’s premium furniture offerings.
  • Build relationships with international distributors, retailers, and project clients.
  • Navigate export logistics, compliance, and documentation.
  • Represent Alankaram at international expos and trade fairs.


Common Responsibilities for All Sales Heads

  • Develop and execute vertical-specific sales strategies aligned with Alankaram’s growth goals.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competition, and client preferences.
  • Drive upselling opportunities for rugs, lights, mattresses, and accessories alongside furniture.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team for each vertical.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with CRM (Leadsquared) and reporting systems.
  • Oversee coordination with back-office and design teams to ensure timely approvals, quotations, and deliveries.


Key Objectives and Results (OKRs)

Objective 1: Achieve and surpass sales targets.

  • Key Results:
  • Retail: Boost showroom sales by 50% YOY.
  • Institutional: Secure 10+ high-value corporate projects annually.
  • Residential: Achieve ₹15 crore in annual revenue from HNI clients.
  • Export: Establish partnerships in 3+ new countries within 12 months.

Objective 2: Build strong client relationships.

  • Key Results:
  • Foster long-term partnerships with 20+ key clients annually.
  • Achieve a 90% client satisfaction score across all verticals.

Objective 3: Streamline operations and team performance.

  • Key Results:
  • Ensure 100% compliance with reporting protocols and CRM updates.
  • Conduct monthly team training sessions for skill enhancement.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue: Monthly and annual revenue achievement per vertical.
  • Client Acquisition: Number of new clients/projects onboarded.
  • Operational Efficiency: Compliance with SOPs and TATs for approvals and deliveries.
  • Team Performance: Individual and collective target achievements.
  • Market Expansion: Number of new markets/regions entered (for export and institutional).


Reporting Protocol

  • Direct Reports: Sales executives, showroom managers, and regional representatives.
  • Weekly Reports:
  • Sales pipeline updates and lead follow-ups.
  • Field visit summaries and client feedback.
  • Monthly Reports:
  • Consolidated revenue performance.
  • Team performance reviews.
  • Market insights and recommendations.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • Retail Sales Head: 8+ years in showroom/store management in luxury goods or furniture.
  • Institutional Sales Head: 10+ years in corporate/B2B sales, preferably in furniture or interiors.
  • Residential Sales Head: 8+ years in luxury sales, targeting HNIs and interior designers.
  • Export Sales Head: 10+ years in international sales/export management.
  • Education: MBA in Sales/Marketing or equivalent.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and data-driven decision-making.
  • Other:
  • Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings and business development.
