Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Leadership:Oversees the academic programs of the university, including curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and student academic affairs.
  • Promotes academic excellence and innovation through research, teaching, and learning.
  • Ensures the maintenance of high academic standards and quality assurance.
  • Strategic Planning:Develops and implements the university's long-term strategic plan, aligning it with national and international trends in higher education.
  • Identifies opportunities for growth and innovation and develops strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Financial Management:Oversees the university's financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensures the efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Human Resource Management:Leads the recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality faculty and staff.
  • Fosters a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Infrastructure Development:Oversees the development and maintenance of the university's physical infrastructure, including classrooms, laboratories, and administrative facilities.
  • Student Affairs:Promotes student welfare and success.
  • Oversees student recruitment, admissions, and counseling services.
  • Encourages student engagement in extracurricular activities and co-curricular programs.
  • Public Relations and Fundraising:Represents the university at various events and forums.
  • Builds strong relationships with alumni, industry partners, and government agencies.
  • Secures funding for research, infrastructure development, and student scholarships.
  • Governance and Compliance:Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and university policies.
  • Chairs the Academic Council and other key university committees.

Qualifications:

  • A distinguished academic record with a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Significant experience in higher education leadership, preferably as a Dean or Provost.
  • A proven track record of academic leadership, research, and publication.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and social responsibility.
