Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Azure ETL Developer with a solid understanding of the Insurance domain to design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines and data integration solutions within the Azure environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources into data warehouses, ensuring data quality and consistency, and supporting data analytics needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ETL Development: Design, develop, and implement ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related Azure technologies to move data from multiple sources to target data repositories.
  • Data Integration: Work with business analysts and data engineers to integrate data from various insurance applications, third-party providers, and legacy systems, ensuring accurate transformation and loading into Azure cloud-based solutions.
  • Cloud Solutions: Leverage Azure cloud technologies (Data Lake, Blob Storage, SQL Database, Data Warehouse, etc.) to ensure seamless integration, scalability, and performance optimization of data solutions.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize ETL processes and data workflows for efficiency, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability of data pipelines in the Azure cloud.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with insurance business stakeholders to understand data requirements and transform business needs into technical specifications.
  • Data Quality: Ensure data consistency, integrity, and accuracy by performing data validation, error handling, and data reconciliation tasks across various systems and sources.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation for ETL workflows, integration procedures, and best practices. Provide status updates and issue resolution reports to stakeholders.
  • Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for production ETL processes, monitor data pipelines, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Perform regular updates and enhancements to meet changing business needs.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to insurance industry standards, compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and security best practices for data processing and storage in the cloud.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in ETL development, with a strong focus on Azure cloud technologies.
  • Azure Expertise: Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure cloud services.
  • Insurance Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance industry data, business processes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., policy data, claims, underwriting).
  • ETL Tools & Technologies: Experience with ETL tools and techniques (Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services - SSIS, or other ETL platforms).
  • Programming Languages: Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating data. Experience with Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages for automation and data manipulation is a plus.
  • Data Modeling: Experience in data modeling concepts, data warehousing, and designing data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues in ETL workflows and data processing.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with business users, data engineers, and analysts.
  • Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Cloud Certification: Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with large-scale data sets in the insurance sector.
  • Knowledge of insurance-specific systems (e.g., claims management, policy administration systems).
  • Experience in data governance, compliance, and security in a cloud-based environment.
  • Familiarity with other Azure services like Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Power BI for reporting and visualization.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
