Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Construction to oversee the execution of large-scale airport and mixed-use development projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This is a leadership role requiring a combination of technical expertise, stakeholder management, and operational acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning and Execution
  • Develop comprehensive construction strategies for airport and mixed-use projects, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee feasibility studies, project planning, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and success.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects, meeting budgetary constraints without compromising quality standards.
  1. Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage large, multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across all project teams.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide training and development opportunities.
  1. Technical Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with international standards, building codes, and aviation regulations specific to airport projects.
  • Provide technical expertise in design reviews, value engineering, and problem-solving during construction phases.
  • Lead efforts to adopt innovative construction technologies and sustainable practices.
  1. Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Manage relationships with airport authorities and mixed-use project stakeholders to align on project expectations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations, addressing issues proactively and diplomatically.
  1. Budget and Risk Management
  • Establish and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost optimization and value creation.
  • Identify risks associated with large-scale construction projects and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular audits and reporting on project status, costs, and potential bottlenecks.
  1. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
  • Enforce stringent HSE protocols to ensure safe construction practices across all sites.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives aligned with environmental standards and corporate goals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in construction, with at least 5 years managing airport projects and mixed-use developments.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of airport design standards, regulations, and operational requirements.
  • Strong understanding of mixed-use development, including commercial, retail, and residential spaces.
  • Expertise in modern construction technologies, sustainability practices, and innovative project delivery models.
