Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Validation Engineer with a strong background in network and security. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of TCP layer, Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 7 protocols, as well as overlay and underlay networks. This role involves validating and ensuring the robustness and security of our network systems, including API security, OAuth, and other security domains.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute validation plans for network and security systems.
  • Validate the functionality and performance of TCP layer, Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 7 protocols.
  • Design and implement test cases to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the integrity of network security features.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
  • Perform penetration testing and security assessments to identify potential threats.
  • Validate various security aspects, including API security and OAuth implementations.
  • Utilize security tools and frameworks for vulnerability scanning and assessment (e.g., Nessus, OpenVAS, Metasploit).
  • Document test cases, test results, and validation processes.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze network performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in network security, API security, and protocol standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security, data security, application security, and infrastructure security.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5 plus years of experience in network and security validation.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP layer, Layer 2 (e.g., Ethernet, VLANs, STP), Layer 3 (e.g., IP, ICMP, ARP, routing protocols), and Layer 7 (e.g., HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, FTP) protocols.
  • Understanding of overlay (e.g., VXLAN, GRE) and underlay (e.g., MPLS, IP) networks.
  • Experience with network validation tools and frameworks (e.g., Wireshark, Iperf, IXIA).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or similar for automation.
  • Understanding of encryption and integrity algorithms.
  • Extensive knowledge of API security practices, including OAuth.
  • Familiarity with open-source network tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Nagios).
  • Experience with penetration testing tools (e.g., Nessus, OpenVAS, Metasploit).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Keycloak, OpenStack, and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Experience with network management and monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus).
  • Understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001).
  • Familiarity with data security, application security, and infrastructure security best practices.
