Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Draftsman at Client of BBN Consultants in Mohali. The role involves day-to-day tasks related to drafting mechanical designs and collaborating with engineers to develop and modify mechanical drawings.


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Tekla, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and welding techniques (structure steel, girders etc)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.


Experience: At least 3-6 years of experience as a draftsman in mechanical design, preferably in structural steel fabrication.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and prepare accurate, detailed mechanical drawings of structural steel components using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, SolidWorks).
  • Create shop drawings for fabrication and installation of steel structures, ensuring that they meet project specifications and codes.
  • Incorporate design changes and updates into the drawings as required by engineering or client feedback.
  • Work closely with structural engineers to ensure designs conform to engineering specifications.
  • Review technical requirements, structural calculations, and materials needed for each project.
  • Provide support to the engineering team in reviewing designs and resolving any issues during the design or fabrication process.
  • Ensure that drawings are clear and easy to interpret for fabricators and welders on-site.
  • Assist the installation team by providing support during assembly or erection of steel structures.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that the fabrication process adheres to the design specifications.
