JOB DESCRIPTION for DANCONS ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER:


Location: main job location will be in Kolkata with availability to travel in India and abroad.


Reporting to DIL ENG HOD.


Requirement:


• Good communication skills and team spirit

• Knowledge of IS and GTS, international std also required

• Experience with Indian steel producers, consultants and suppliers

• Electrical design capability 2D (Autocad), basic 3D capability will be a plus (Naviswork/PDMS/AVEVA E3D)

• Degree in Electrical Engineering;


• The knowledge and use of calculation programs for cable sizing is appreciated (Ampere / Caneco / ETAP), cable routing (Cavplus or similar), coordination of protections and lighting calculations;


• 3-5 years experience in the role in companies in the EPC sector / Plant Design / Consultancy;


Job description:


• Analysis of contractual technical specifications and the related comments and approvals;

• Project Engineer for planning and technical development of detailed electrical engineering for order cabling / interconnecting (IC DD) which includes:

• Preparation of engineering specifications to be distributed to external technical offices for the development of the detail cabling engineering;

• Planning, coordination and monitoring of both internal and external engineering activities;

• Preparation and validation of the technical documentation.

For example: electrical equipment layout, cable routes layout, primary and secondary grounding distribution, calculation reports and cable sizing checks, cable routing and cable trays filling, cable and interconnection tables, installation drawings, BOM for materials purchasing;

• Preparation of Material Requisitions for materials purchasing;

• Definition of settings and tests to be carried out on the electrical equipment in the field;

• Support activities on the construction site for technical clarifications during the Erection and Commissioning phases;

• Support to the Project Manager and the Proposal Office to confirm planning and estimation of engineering and electrical materials costs both in the offering phase and in the order development phase; proactive reporting in the event of postponement of times or extra-costs of the order proposing a recovery action plan;

• Interface with other technical disciplines of the Dancons Technical Office (Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Piping) for multidisciplinary coordination for the development of detailed engineering, for the electrocivil part (definition of special supports on cable ways, passage openings, trenches and embedded conduits);

• Coordination with Danieli Automation for data exchange for the transition from basic engineering to detailed engineering, that is retrieval of all documentation necessary for DD development;

• Report to the project manager about the progress of the project engineering and propose / agree actions for technical improvement and / or risk mitigation in relation to time and costs;

• Report development on procurement and delivery progress;

• Support for the development of tender specifications for external purchasing (i.e. primary grounding, lighting system, etc.).
