Job Summary:
As a CGI Generalist , you will create high-quality computer-generated imagery that seamlessly integrates with live-action footage and contributes to an engaging visual experience. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills in CGI, VFX, and animation, and a keen eye for detail and realism. You will collaborate with directors, designers, and other artists to produce visually compelling assets for various media projects.
Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling & Texturing: Develop photorealistic 3D models of characters, creatures, environments, and objects, ensuring alignment with the creative direction of each project.
- Animation & Rigging: Animate characters and assets, creating fluid and realistic movements. Set up rigging for characters or complex structures as needed.
- Lighting & Rendering: Apply lighting techniques and shaders to achieve high-quality, photorealistic renders that match the style and tone of each project.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the VFX supervisor, art director, and other team members to integrate CGI elements with live-action footage or background scenes.
- Problem Solving: Address technical challenges related to CGI, such as resolution issues, scaling, and compatibility with different visual effects software.
- Asset Management: Maintain organized project files and manage versioning to streamline the post-production process.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and techniques to bring fresh ideas and innovations to the team.
Requirements:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a CGI Generalist in film, TV, advertising, or gaming industries.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in software such as Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D, Zbrush, Houdini, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering engines like Arnold, V-Ray, or Redshift etc.
- Artistic Skills: Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and color theory, with an emphasis on realism.
- Portfolio: A diverse portfolio showcasing high-quality CGI work, including examples of modeling, texturing, rendering, and animation.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality visuals with a strong sense of realism and accuracy.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members and taking creative feedback.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) environments.
- Knowledge of game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Previous work in a high-paced production studio setting.
