Planning for General Merchandising Department, Forecasting, (Open To Buy (OTB), densities, inventory health, and sell-through, Gross Margin Return On Inventory Investment (GMROII)) to ensure stock deliveries to the stores as per approved capacity plans and store profile to achieve sales objectives.

He / She will be responsible for providing effective brand/category planning and in season management ofassortments and inventory level.

The role holder will need to determine high-level financial goals including pre-season financial

plans, in-season projections, open-to-buy management and new store budgets. Analyse, monitor

merchandise planning and communicate the strategic plan to buying team for necessary

execution thereby ensuring effective in-season management across stores/areas (stock

balancing, markdown management, stock analysis, stock vs sales performance).

Develop and Review the merchandise plans on a periodic basis. Ensure optimum inventory

levels are maintained for each brand/category, keeping in mind store requirements as well as

working capital constraints. He / She needs to ensure no instances of stock outs or excess

inventory occur on account of any discrepancy on part of planning. Manages and updates

replenishment parameters. Needs to ensure that all activities are in line with the set policies and

procedures.


Track and map competitor activities, market trends and forecasts. He / She will need to build

good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and lead the team to meet

the set objectives. He / She will need to travel to location PAN India for visits to stores,

Warehouse and Vendor sites.



Who can apply

Candidates having extensive experience in Retail Planning and Merchandising in value retail

format/FMCG Brand with a proven track record in managing a similar role.

Experience of approx 12 - 15 years.

Candidates with MBA. Ability to manage a large team.

Must be willing to travel to various locations PAN India.



Skills needed

Excellent communication, problem solving, decision making and leadership skills.

Excellent negotiation skills with an eye for detail. Must be a team player.

Will be responsible for training and grooming team members.

Must be good with Ms. Office tools - word, excel and powerpoint , SAP.

Excellent in Inventory Management.

Must have good understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
