The Opportunity

 

Peepul Tree is a vibrant and creative company dedicated to celebrating Indian motifs and art forms through innovative textile designs. We specialize in creating unique and aesthetically pleasing collections that showcase the richness of indian culture across various mediums, including textiles and ceramics. We are currently looking for a skilled and imaginative Textile Designer, proficient in printing techniques and creating digital illustrations and artworks , to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Indian motifs, artforms and a keen eye for design, and the ability to create innovative and aesthetically pleasing digital renditions and collections that can be across various mediums: block print designs, digital print designs, screen print designs etc. across various mediums such as textiles, ceramics etc.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Design Development:

  • Create original digital print designs, motifs, artworks and illustrations for a range of products, considering factors such as application, color, pattern, and texture.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate them into design concepts.
  • Collaborate with block and screen printers, decal makers etc. to ensure designs are feasible for production.
  • Conceptualizing New collections
  • Research and Development
  • Innovation in Textiles, digital illustrations, prints and artworks
  • Illustration, print and final Sample Development
  • Research Conduct research on market trends, competitor products, and emerging materials to inform design decisions.Stay abreast of new technologies and techniques in textile,ceramic,print design
  • Prototype and Testing: Develop prototypes and samples for design testing and evaluation.Make adjustments to designs based on feedback and testing results.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality and consistency of all designs during manufacturing.


Qualifications & Skillset Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, print & Illustration Design, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience hands-on experience in digital print. illustartion and textile design and weaving, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of styles and techniques
  • Strong artistic and creative abilities.
  • Excellent understanding of color theory, pattern design, and textile techniques.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools especially Procreate, Illustrator and Photoshop. 
  • Knowledge of different textile materials and manufacturing processes.

Minimum 2 years of work experience in Indian Handlooms/ Block print and other print techniques(textile and non-textile). Must be an expert on developing printable illustrations and artworks on Procreate, Illustrator, Photoshop etc. for various end uses.
