Designation : Lead Engineer- Mechanical Design

Reporting to : Senior Project Leader, Marmon GIC

Location : Bangalore, Full Time

Qualification : Graduation in Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree will be an added advantage. Experience : 6 - 8 Years


Position Overview: As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions focused on subsystems including metal stamping, casting, and forming processes. You will drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, leverage technical strategy and best practices, and lead the successful execution of product design projects. In this role, you will further develop technical subject-matter expertise while contributing significantly to MFT’s growth and innovation.


Key Responsibilities / Functions:

▪ Responsible for execution of core or derivative programs, provide technical expertise to product development programs, participate in complex NPD processes, and effectively use the methodologies like Concept Selection, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, and Design Validation Plans

▪ Participate in design process, testing, and reviews for various components or subsystems across all product lines as a functional expert

▪ Utilize mathematical and computer-based engineering analyses to design innovative and reliable solutions

▪ Develop technical drawings, models, and specifications using engineering software and tools (Solidworks and Creo)

▪ Drive VAVE implementation through design and modularization of components in a product line based on analysis of a commodity category or supplier strategy

▪ Identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose and implement design modifications of existing product lines

▪ Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure project goals are met.


Skills/ Experience:

▪ Strong technical knowledge of sheet metal design, metal stamping, forming, and casting as well as general engineering and physics concepts

▪ Proficiency in CAD software, PDM or other engineering tools and applications (Solidworks, Creo and Windchill)

▪ Demonstrated VAVE analysis and implementation skills as applies to simplification or modularization of a commodity category and supplier strategy will be added advantage.

▪ Exposure to UL and CE certification requirements for mechanical components. (Exposure to NSF standards will be added advantage)

▪ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

▪ Effective communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly

▪ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

▪ Exposure in creating Proof of Concepts, prototyping and testing such as product performance tests, reliability tests, etc.

▪ Exposure to manufacturing environment and supplier coordination as required

▪ Flexible in adapting quickly to changing business needs and project priorities

▪ Experience in working with global engineering team is a must (Preferably with US teams)
