Timings: US (5:30pm to 2:30am) (Transportation provided by Company)

Monthly CTC: 25-35k per month (negotiable based on prior experience and interview performance)

Experience: 1+ years of experience in similar roles preferred (Freshers with AAPC certification can also apply)


Role Summary


Lenity Health is seeking a Certified Medical Coder to join our team in the Bengaluru office. The role involves accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records for billing and insurance purposes. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals with expertise in medical coding standards who can collaborate effectively within our on-site team.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Medical Record Review: Analyze and review patient medical records for accuracy and completeness.
  2. Code Assignment: Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
  3. Compliance: Ensure all coding adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and payer-specific guidelines.
  4. Billing Support: Collaborate with the billing team to verify that coding aligns with insurance requirements, addressing denials and discrepancies as needed.
  5. Documentation Improvement: Work with healthcare providers to clarify and improve documentation to support accurate coding and billing.
  6. Identify and resolve discrepancies, potential quality-of-care issues, and billing concerns.
  7. System Management: Utilize and navigate EHR systems such as DrChrono, eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, or ModMed for efficient documentation and coding processes.
  8. Team Collaboration: Contribute to the success of the company by working closely with colleagues and participating in team meetings and initiatives.
  9. Research: Research, analyze, recommend, and facilitate plans of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors.
  10. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations at all times.


Qualifications

  • Certification: AAPC certification (e.g., CPC, CPC-A, COC) is required.
  • Experience: Prior medical coding experience and proficiency with EHR systems (Freshers also can apply)
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and billing/insurance processes.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, analytical ability, effective communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
