Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Datacenter Operations Engineer to manage and administer our Disaster Recovery (DR) site in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in VMware, Veeam, Linux, Windows, networking, and data storage solutions. The role requires a deep understanding of data replication, data backup, and LAN/WAN architectures to ensure the smooth operation and availability of our critical IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and administer the DR site infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Manage virtualization platforms (VMware) and perform backup/recovery operations using Veeam.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Linux and Windows servers, including OS patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • Configure and maintain LAN/WAN networks, ensuring stable connectivity and proper routing of traffic.
  • Oversee data replication and backup solutions to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Prepare and maintain a DR runbook.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize datacenter operations.
  • Conduct regular DR testing and failover simulations to ensure disaster preparedness.
  • Document infrastructure changes, backup policies, and issue resolution steps.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in datacenter operations, virtualization, networking, and storage.
  • Proficiency in VMware administration, including VM creation, migration, and snapshot management.
  • Hands-on experience with Veeam or equivalent backup software for data protection.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN architectures, IP routing, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with data replication technologies and disaster recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage systems and data storage management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Certifications in VMware, Veeam, Linux, or Windows administration.
  • Experience with cloud-based DR solutions and hybrid environments.
