POSITION DESCRIPTION

Programs and Partnerships Manager

Global Programs - Kerala, India

 

The Programs and Partnerships Manager will oversee the development and implementation of our community-centred conservation programs in Kerala.

 

The successful applicant will have experience in developing corporate and philanthropic partnerships to fund our ongoing Waste to Wealth program, as well as further develop our Rewilding our Floodplains and Fishing for Change programs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. They will be a great all-rounder with experience working on similar projects, as well as possessing a thorough understanding of team management, high-level relationship building, fundraising and project design within an environmental conservation and/or development context.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing the strategic planning, design and management of our regional campaigns.


  • Working with staff, the CEO and the Board to lead grant research, grant writing, and corporate and philanthropic fundraising efforts to ensure the continued growth and success of our programs.


  • An ability to recruit, organise and manage our team, volunteers and interns from India and overseas, ensuring that their work aligns with and contributes to the organisation's strategic objectives while monitoring KPIs and assisting them in effectively navigating any challenges.


  • Overseeing the operation of our Marine Conservation Centre (MCC) and Ocean Innovation Hub (OIH).

 

  • Overseeing finances and budgets and ensuring that our local accounts are in order (in line with local reporting requirements and our local CA).


  • Representing the organisation and regional programs at conferences and events, as well as to supporters, stakeholders and the media.


  • Providing regular updates to the CEO, as well as formal feedback to the CEO and board every quarter.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience with and a thorough understanding of funding within a charitable society and/or corporate environment.


  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in marketing, business management, international development, conservation science, or a related field.


  • Fluency in written and spoken Malayalam and English.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Is self-motivated, self-reliant and adaptive with a strong work ethic.


  • Has a proven track record of raising CSR, philanthropic, and/or grant funding and has strong networks with potential funders and corporations that could support the work that PCFML is leading in Kerala.

 

  • Has a thorough understanding of waste management, estuary remediation, and/or fisheries management within an international development context OR possesses the skills and experience required within a similar field to lead our programs successfully.


  • Possesses the ability to achieve set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while regularly reporting progress to the CEO, PCFML supporter base, directors and investors.


  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and team management skills, including the ability to train, advise and work with various stakeholders from varying sectors, as well as empowering the community to step up and take on leadership roles within our programs.

 

  • Possesses extensive knowledge and a practical understanding of program monitoring and evaluation, capturing key indicators to measure success.

 

  • Can develop high-level relationships with key program partners, including government officials.

 

  • Has a proven track record in creating, refining and reporting on proactive campaign strategies and budgets.

 

ROLE AND REMUNERATION DETAILS

Our office is in Kovalam Beach Kerala, India. The role will be offered on an initial 6-month probationary contract with the possibility to extend for the right person.

 

A competitive remuneration package is offered, including a base salary and bonuses, healthcare, and a small project-based travel allowance.
