Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Subtitling Quality Control Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have an excellent command of English and proficiency in at least one additional language, with strong attention to detail. This role will involve reviewing subtitles for accuracy, cultural relevance, and technical precision to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:


Subtitle Quality Control:

  • Review subtitles for accuracy, timing, grammar, and cultural relevance.
  • Identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and formatting issues.
  • Collaborate with the production team to address quality issues promptly.

Language Proficiency:

  • Strong command of the English language and proficiency in additional languages (see table below for specific project languages).
  • Ensure accurate translation of spoken dialogue while maintaining linguistic nuances and cultural integrity.

Technical Aptitude:

  • Utilize subtitling software and tools to perform quality checks and resolve technical challenges.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to subtitle files and formats.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, including translators, project managers, and quality control specialists.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve the overall quality and efficiency of subtitle localization processes.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of quality control reviews.
  • Generate comprehensive reports summarizing quality control evaluations for clients and project managers.
