Responsibilities:

> Deliver exclusive and detailed coverage of the Indian Armed Forces, internal security, and defence policies.

> Stay attuned to key developments in the global defence sector, geopolitics, and security alliances.

> Craft stories across multiple mediums—text, video, and multimedia content for digital platforms.

> Collaborate with editorial teams for deeper defence coverage, interviews with key stakeholders, and field reports from defence exercises or operations.

> Break down complex military matters for the general audience, while maintaining accuracy and authority on the subject.

Qualifications:

> A strong academic background from a Tier 1 institution, preferably with a focus on defence studies, international relations, or political science.

> Deep interest and understanding of India's military capabilities, defence strategies, and the geopolitical landscape.

> Strong research, writing, and editing skills, with impeccable English (spoken and written).

> Prior experience in journalism, especially in covering defence or strategic affairs, is a bonus but not mandatory.

> Ability to visualise and contribute to video production if applying for a multimedia-focused role.

> Passion for impactful, factual storytelling and a commitment to Republic’s standards of quality journalism.
